Principal's Newsletter: End of the First Week of School
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
As we wrap up our first week of the new school year, I want to take a moment to thank you all for your enthusiasm, cooperation, and commitment to making this a successful start. It’s been wonderful to see our classrooms buzzing with energy and our students eager to learn.
Immunization Compliance
I’d like to remind all parents about the importance of ensuring your child is fully immunized, as per DoDEA policy. This is not only crucial for your child’s health but also for the well-being of our entire school community. If we do not have your child’s up-to-date immunization record on file, we will need to ask that your child remain at home until we receive it. The school nurse is available to answer any questions and assist with this process. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
Dress Code Reminder
With the warm weather still upon us, I understand the temptation to dress lightly. However, I’d like to remind everyone
of our school dress code policy. It is the responsibility of each student to adhere to this policy, which is designed to maintain a respectful and focused learning environment. Please take a moment to review the dress code guidelines with your student to ensure compliance.
Upcoming Events
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at our Back-to-School Potluck and Picnic. This is a fantastic opportunity for us all to come together, enjoy some great food, and build our school community. Next week, we will be honored to host a visit from our Community Superintendent, Mr. David Rudy. It’s always a pleasure to showcase the amazing work happening in our school, and I know he’ll be impressed by our students and staff.
Stay Connected
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the front office. We’re here to support you and ensure a positive school experience for your child.
Finally, I’ve included a link to a short video message—please take a moment to watch it. Thank you again for a great first week. Have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing you all next week!
Warm regards,
Dr. Marian Leverette

Greetings and welcome back everyone,
I want to update everyone on the sports opportunities at Ankara EHS. We have several sports offered for
grades 9-12 only with wrestling accepting students in grades 7-8. Please take a moment to look at our sports
offerings and read the important message about the physical form guidance below.
Extra-Curricular Sports at Ankara EHS
Fall Sports:
Soccer: Boys and Girls will run from September 2nd to late October. Boys and girls teams grades 9-12 only.
Winter Sports:
Wrestling: Boys and girls seasons will run from early December to late February. Boys and girls teams grades 7-12. Only grades
9-12 will be able to travel for competition.
Basketball: Boys and girls seasons will run from early December to late February. Boys and girls teams grades 9-12 only.
Spring Sports:
Volleyball: Boys and girls seasons will run from early March until the middle of May. Boys and girls teams grades 9-12 only.
Physicals: Students participating in any sports this season, will need to have an updated physical form before attending the first practice of that sport. The physical form needs to be signed and stamped by a doctor of your choosing. I will send the form to your emails so families can begin getting physicals this week before school begins
to make things easier for everyone. There will be an orientation on the first day of practice for each and an opportunity for parents to
attend in person or virtually.
Orientation information will be provided when that sport is set to begin. Please begin completing sports physicals currently if any of your children are going to participate in any sports as it is mandatory before practicing.
You can turn in the signed physical forms to Nurse Grazak or myself. Please email me with any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Walter Dodds
Ankara EHS Athletic Director
